We don’t know about you, but we have been pretty tired of the gray skies and chilly winds in New York City.
After reaching our limit of less than stellar weather, we followed suit of New Yorkers, Californians, and every state in between, and headed out to the Lone Star State. In search of hot weather and hot sauce in our tacos, we flew to SXSW in Austin, Texas.
We kicked off our little getaway with a party as a good as gold. Dream Hotels and Fools Gold partnered together to put on an artist showcase at Vulcan Gas Company, located on the infamous Sixth Street.
When you only have 48 hours at SXSW, sleep is neither a necessity nor an option. We powered up with some late-night BBQ, and hit our next party bright and early on Friday morning. (yes morning, you read that right)
Friday was the Annual SXSW Day Party, which we partnered with The Windish Agency to put on. With 2 stages, indoor and outdoor viewing spaces, and a taco bar (insert hot sauce here), we had all the makings for a legendary day party.
Between bites of pulled pork and sips of Bud Light, we rocked out to Bob Moses, Gryffin, OKAY KAYA, and Chicano Batman. If you haven’t heard of these musicians yet, don’t worry. We had the chance to sit down with them and we’ll have their Dream Sessions ready for you sooner than you can say “Am I so old that I don’t know who these names are??” (Don’t worry, we won’t call you out when you suggest Gryffin’s sick beats at your next SoulCycle class)
If you weren’t able to make it to Austin, you can relieve all the glory (without the hangover) on our Instagram.
